Communities, Game & Cultures

Players, academics and researchers, associations and institutions get into the game every year with a common goal: the safeguard a living heritage. Now in its 21st edition, Tocatì reconfirms itself as a meeting point for the entire international Traditional Game and Sport community and looks to the future: it is no longer just a festival, but a programme of permanent activities. Conferences, workshops, and activities in schools are just some of the initiatives promoted throughout the year by AGA and Tocatì, recognised in the UNESCO Register of Good Practices in December 2022 with Italy as the leader along with Belgium, Cyprus, Croatia and France. Tocatì gives centre stage to traditional games communities and their cultural contexts, contributing to the preservation of valuable craft, food, musical, ritual and festive knowledge and practices: all evolving contemporary traditions whose transmission depends on our commitment for the future.
