GAA Handball

GAA Handball (liathróid láimhe) is one of the oldest games on the island. The first written reference to a similar game in Ireland dates back to the early 1500s, and archaeological finds suggest that even older versions go all the way back to Celtic times. Players use their hands to strike a small ball against a wall, with the goal of preventing their opponent from making a valid return and being the first to reach 21 points.
