Traditional Irish Games
Ireland arrives in Verona bringing with it the rhythm of hurling and the traditional games and sports that still animate its counties from north to south. It is a culture of the body and the team, tied for centuries to village life, grown in the fields as much as in the streets, and one that Tocatì welcomes this year as Guest of Honour Country. Thanks to our collaboration with Gaelic Games Europe, we’ll be bringing to Veronetta their gestures, their rules, their way of standing in a circle before and after the match. An encounter between two traditions that recognise themselves in the same simple gesture: playing together to keep a shared memory alive.
Here are the first traditional Irish games and sports we’re revealing, which will be the protagonists of the 2026 edition.
