Two competitors, an iron bowl, a country road turned into a race course: will you play Road Bowling with us?
Players take turns throwing an iron bowl along a course of about two miles, trying to reach the finish line with the fewest throws possible. Each throw calls for reading the terrain and calibrating strength, while spectators follow the challenge’s progress along the whole route.
The game has stayed alive above all in the counties of Cork, in the south, and Armagh, in the north, where it has never stopped being played, becoming part of those communities’ identity. At Tocatì, Road Bowling will bring an exciting challenge with Italian street bowling communities, in a contest that intertwines throwing styles and different roads.
