The Zugo de l’Ovo (Game of the Egg) is a traditional game of the small community from Sezano in Valpantena, Verona. The third Sunday of September a procession for Our Lady of Sorrows occurs to remember the plague epidemic avoided in 1400, a feast that was once held at Easter: here lies the origin of the ludic use of eggs, at least since the 50s. Couples, preferably mixed, of all ages repeatedly throw a raw egg at each other; at each successful exchange where the egg remains intact, one of the two people in the couple takes a step back. The last couple to remain with the intact egg wins the game.
