Trucco da terra

The history of this game dates back to an ancient Spanish heritage but its origin remains shrouded in mystery. Played today in the hinterland of the province of Savona, in Rialto and Calice Ligure, the game consists of passing, with the use of a wooden paddle, a few
coloured balls inside an iron ring: the ‘trick’. To do this, it is necessary to follow very precise rules such as the ‘nettu su truccu’, which forbids opponents, on pain of losing a point, from touching the trick with the paddle.
