The Europe of Traditional Games and Sports: Safeguarding Experiences in Dialogue

As every year, the Play Culture Forum brings together communities and institutions from the Tocatì network for moments of reflection, sharing practices and experiences, co-design, and cooperation.
This year too, the Forum will be a guest of the University of Verona, in the prestigious Rectorate building, Palazzo Giuliari. A hospitality that strengthens the desire for collaboration between universities and civil society entities, within the Tocatì network.

The Tocatì un patrimonio share international symposium will be held in the Scaligeri Hall of Palazzo Giuliari, home to the rectorate of the University of Verona.

Now in its tenth edition, the Symposium will open a comparative reflection on the different experiences of its partnership, bringing examples of safeguarding traditional games and sports from the territories of Good Practice.

“The Europe of Traditional Games and Sports: Safeguarding Experiences in Dialogue” will be a unique opportunity to engage with the Irish guest of honor, who will share the experience of the GAA (Gaelic Athletic Association) in the broad context of Irish culture: where sports, games, music, and crafts are languages that convey culture.

In introduction and as a key-note speaker, from the European Commission the contribution of Normunds Popens, who will present the strategy document Culture Compass for Europe. A compass for culture: cultural diversity, cultural heritage and creativity – guidance for the Union’s cultural policies over the next decade.
