Rings

In Irish pubs in winter, when it was cold outside, people would challenge each other to Ringboard.

The game works like this: six rubber rings, a wooden board with thirteen numbered hooks, a score that only counts if the ring stays hanging on the right hook. It takes just a few minutes to understand, but the precision needed to win is built throw after throw.

Carried overseas by Irish emigrants, who made it known in English pubs between the 1800s and 1900s, Ringboard remains a community game to this day, with a national championship held every year in Ireland. At the festival, it will be one of the quickest ways to jump straight into the game.
