Opening

On Friday 18 September, at 5.30pm, in Piazza XVI Ottobre, the 24th edition of Tocatì officially opens. For the first time, four UNESCO recognitions come together in the same festival: Tocatì, a Good Safeguarding Practice; the city walls of Verona, a World Heritage Site; and the Irish practices taking centre stage as guests of honour, hurling and uilleann piping, both inscribed on the Intangible Cultural Heritage list. From here begins a weekend bringing over a hundred activities to the streets of Veronetta, spanning games, sport, music and dance.

Ireland arrives with its communities and its language, ready to meet those who, in Verona, keep the game alive all year round.
