Whether on grass or sand, the Swedish game of Kubb is always played outdoors. Often described as a mix between bowling and chess, it follows simple rules and a clear goal: knock down the ten smaller wooden blocks—the “kubbs”—before finally toppling the largest piece, the “King.” But be careful! Knocking down the King too early means an immediate loss.
Now widely played in Italy as well, Kubb has found a new home in parks and public squares, where its blend of strategy and fun continues to bring people together.
