Speed and teamwork meet in Tiuru, a traditional game played with a woven ball, poi or a stick.
Teams try to score by catching the ball on one of seven marked spots known as karangi. Defenders can challenge players physically, but scorers can only resist, not push.
If tagged, the ball must be passed within three seconds. If dropped, the other team takes possession. Tiuru is fast, physical, and strategic—a shared ritual that builds team spirit and recalls ancient ways of playing together
