The film that touches you "San Damiano"

This year, Bridge Film Festival and Diplomart will collaborate with Tocatì for two evenings of open-air cinema dedicated to screening or medium-length films, documentaries, animated or experimental short films, with the aim of enhancing the themes and protagonists of the festival by promoting a contemporary reflection on the concept of Cultural Heritage. The event will be held at the Batteria Carlo Scarpa, located in San Nazaro 52 street, Verona, in the heart of the Veronetta district. The choice of this space represents a meeting point between historical memory, architecture and community, and perfectly embodies the spirit of the Third Space, the central theme of the first evening.

On Saturday the theme will be the Third Space, a concept that indicates hybrid environments – physical and symbolic – in which different communities meet, dialogue and coexist outside the traditional dichotomies between public and private space. These spaces are configured as places of cultural negotiation and social innovation, crucial for the inclusion and construction of new forms of citizenship.
The evening will take place in collaboration with Leandro Ventura, director of the Central Institute for Intangible Heritage (Ministry of Culture), a reference figure on the national scene with regards to the protection and valorisation of intangible cultural heritage, and with the Piccolo America Foundation, symbol of cultural resistance and accessible and shared cinematographic promotion. We are particularly honored to announce the presence of Valerio Giuseppe Carocci, president of the Piccolo America Foundation, who will bring his experience and vision to the field of urban regeneration and cultural activism through cinema. During the evening we will screen the film “San Damiano” (directed by Gregorio Sassoli and Alejandro Cifuentes, 2024).
