Pirlì is a game born from the craftsmanship of artisans in the Bergamo province, where simple materials like wood, glass, leather, and twine are transformed into true masterpieces of ingenuity and creativity. Descended from the ancient spinning top game and a precursor to the pinball machine, Pirlì stands as a vivid symbol of the local traditional play.
The goal of Pirlì is to climb the countryside, represented by the game table’s domain, to overthrow the “King.” At Tocatì, we will host a stage of the tournament that is bringing the game back to the squares.
Accessible to people of all ages and backgrounds, Pirlì fosters intergenerational transmission, building bridges between past and present and helping strengthen the social fabric of the community. Its simplicity and versatility make it an inclusive game, capable of combining fun and sharing, offering everyone—even people with disabilities—a chance for active participation and joy.
Playing Pirlì means rediscovering the value of relationships and popular culture, immersing oneself in the beauty of a tradition that unites art, technique, and community spirit. A simple gesture that continues to tell stories of skilled hands and deep human bonds. At Tocatì, we will host a stage of the tournament that is bringing it back to the squares.
