National Lippa Tournament

Every year, the sharp strike of the Manego and the flight of the S-ciànco echo louder: it’s time for the National Lippa Tournament, the event that brings together teams from all over Italy to celebrate one of the oldest and most widespread traditional games in the world. Each region brings its own variations and names—but on the field, the game is played with the same rules of fairness, aim, and skill. The tournament is an arena open to memory and true play, born from the gesture and passed down through generations. Between long throws, catches in mid-air, and thrilling eliminations, Lippa returns to the spotlight—alive and rooted—thanks to a community that plays it with passion, respect, and team spirit. This year, the teams competing will be Verona, Mede Milano (Fio e Fiulat d’La lippa), Guidazzolo, Mantova.
