In addition to dance and performance, you will also be able to taste Māori culture through its cuisine: Hera Te Kurapa will lead this show dedicated to traditional recipes. The word kai does not only mean “food,” but also connection, memory, identity, and love. Hera describes herself as a home cook rather than a chef; she developed her love for cooking by watching her mother in the kitchen, deepened it with a master’s degree at the Māori University Te Wānanga o Aotearoa, and has shared it on various television programs.

Supported by her husband Kristy Nikora Te Kurapa, during the show she will recreate various traditional recipes, featuring ingredients such as raw fish (Ika Mata), marinated mussels (Kutae), venison tartare (Arohamai), accompanied by Māori fried bread and traditional drinks (such as a fizz made from Kumarahou, an indigenous New Zealand plant).

Through preparing these recipes, you will not only discover their stories, but above all their flavors, with both cooking and tasting!

You can write to assgiochiantichi@gmail.com to reserve your seat.
