Schida is a team game that follows the same rules as Tamburello. The name is taken from a wooden plank used in the kitchen, long ago used to hit a little ball made of cloth, ropes or balled up fibres; conversely, at S-ciàfeta, a very similar game, players only use their hands. In the present day the schida has been replaced by an oval tamburello and a rubber ball. It’s played in a rectangular court of 262×66 feet divided in half and the teams are composed of 9 players, 5 in the field and 4 benched.
