The first evening of the Festival is dedicated to music and dance. To inaugurate their participation as host country of the XVII edition of Tocatì, groups representing the playful regions of Brittany will perform in the streets of the city in music, dances and spectacular dances by Kendalc’h Association, composed of about thirty dancers and dancers, accompanied by musicians and singers.
The Kendalc’h Association has almost 15,000 members. We have set up an ad hoc group to participate in the Tocatì festival with a series of artists representing the cultural peculiarity of each Region within Brittany. The dancers wear festive costumes from the beginning of the 20th century, which reflect the village they belong to. Traditional dance is widespread in Brittany. Every Saturday evening we organize for this purpose the “fest-noz” recognized by UNESCO as an intangible cultural heritage, where you perform traditional dances typically convivial with musicians on stage or among the dancers.
