Wari belongs to the great family of mancala games: the seeding games. Vastly widespread in Africa (Senegal, Gabon, Mali, Burkina Faso, Cape Verde, Nigeria, Ghana, etc), and in the Caribbean (Antigua and Barbados), it’s known with many different
names depending on the region it comes from. Wari has different versions like Nsa Isong, suitable for children, Hoyto from Santo Domingo and the only mancala game considered “traditional” in Europe: Bohnenspiel, the German “Bean Game”. At the game post, you’ll find educators and artists from the African Museum of Verona who will guide you through these remote lands to discover new worlds.
